I just brought up the NASA website so I can watch the Soyuz MS-27 undocking on my laptop and Monday Night Football on the teevee for a possibly fun evening. This is on the front page:
Yes, of course, NASA is going to focus on our astronaut's return, but...my god, this smacks of all the other America First bullshit that's infected the agency's public relations.
I mean, Jonny Kim (who is a fucking amazing person) is hitching a ride on a Russian spacecraft with two cosmonauts, one of whom is the commander and has over a year-and-a-half cumulative time in space after his third mission (~2.5x Kim's time, 3x the flights). They are landing on the Great Steppe of Kazakhstan, guided down by ЦУП in Korolyov, Russia.
Who's accompanying whom?
